My musical journey…

I began learning musical instruments from the age of 6 at home and quickly began to successfully enter ABRSM examinations, achieving grades 1-8 in piano and oboe and grade 5 in music theory. From a young age I competed in the local circuit of music competitions and festivals with performance always being an enjoyable and rewarding element in my musical development.

Whilst studying at Bury Grammar School I had the opportunity to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto no. 21 and Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto on the piano with the school orchestra, in concerts at the RNCM in Manchester. I was also member and accompanist of the school’s Festival Choir and continued this interest in accompanying whilst at university. I was invited to play in masterclasses at Birmingham Conservatoire (where I gained my Bmus Hons) performing to acclaimed pianists such as Peter Donohoe and Bernard Roberts.

Having worked for Rochdale Music Service for over 10 years, teaching music in many schools in the borough, I am now offering my services direct to schools, nurseries and playgroups in your area.
